Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone has come a long way at the Festival De Cannes aka Cannes Film Festival. She debuted on the Cannes red carpet in 2010, and cut to 2022, she is a part of the main jury at the film festival and representing India at this global event.
Deepika left for Cannes, France, recently, and alongside her, on the jury, will be the who’s who of the international film scene – English actor Rebecca Hall, Iranian film director Asghar Farhadi, and Italian actor Jasmine Trinca, among others.
As the actor preps to settle in her new role, we look back at all the fashionable moments she’s lived on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. She has made a name for herself as a fashion force – and these looks have played significant roles in doing so.
The Bollywood actor debuted on the red carpet in a beautifully draped white-and-gold saree and gold embellished blouse by ace designer Rohit Bal.
Later in 2017, she personified elegance in a fashion-forward purple sheer Marchese gown at the Opening Gala. Her ensemble was complemented with diamond jewellery and a pair of strappy heels.
Another look from the same year that helped her make a statement at this global event, was this Brandon Maxwell emerald green gown with a thigh-high slit. Her dramatic eye makeup and neat bun added to the magic that Deepika and her dress created on the Cannes red carpet.
In 2018, the 36-year-old actor slayed it at the Cannes Film Festival red carpet in a larger-than-life fuchsia pink Ashi Studio gown with dramatic ruffles and XXL power shoulders. Her ensemble was paired with emerald drop earrings and she finished her look with smokey eyes.
Her second look in 2018 was a sheer gown by international designer Zuhair Murad. It had a dramatic floor-length trail and a cape over her shoulders. The eye makeup was in a tone of red and her hair, wavy. Hollywood glam is what we can best describe the look as.
Deepika returned to the Cannes red carpet in a bigger and better dress. She wore a lime green tulle tiered gown with a trail by Giambattista Valli and a statement pink headband by Emily London.
The fashionista grabbed many eyeballs for her second look in 2019. It was a Peter Dundas cream gown with a sweeping trail and an oversized black bow at the front of the dress.
