Here’s what you need to know about the Rani Mukerjee-starrer
Directed by Ashhima Chibber, 'Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway' is about an immigrant Indian mother who gets into a legal battle against the Norwegian foster care system to win back the custody of her children.
Inspired by true events, the film’s trailer shows how immigrant Indian mother, Devika Chatterjee’s life is ripped apart when her kids are taken away by the Norwegian foster care system by labelling the Chatterjees to be unfit parents.
Scheduled to hit the theatres on March 17, the film also stars Neena Gupta, Anirban Bhattacharya and Jim Sarbh, and the trailer has already garnered massive attention on Youtube, getting almost 14 million hits between Thursday and Friday evening.
Jim Sarbh who did not go unnoticed at Amin Faizi in the film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, plays a pivotal role in the film as well. Anirban Bhattacharya, who plays Rani’s husband is a well known actor from the Bengali television and film industry.
The director of the film, Ashhima, is known more for her television ventures. Her first directorial debut was in 2013 with ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’.
Rani is making an appearance on the big screen after a fair bit of time. Her last outing was in 2019 with “Bunty Aur Babli 2”. Her performance in 'Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway', from whatever is apparent in the trailer, has already won her accolades.
