The 76th Cannes Festival is scheduled from May 16 to May 27 at Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes.

Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Kennedy’, a police noir film, has been selected for the Midnight Screenings section of the Festival de Cannes. The movie stars Rahul Bhat, Sunny Leone and Benedict Garrett in pivotal roles.
‘Aashiqui’ fame Rahul Roy’s comeback film ‘Agra’ directed by Kanu Behl is all set to premiere at the Directors' Fortnight section of the Cannes Film Festival this year. The film also stars Priyanka Bose who featured in the Oscar-nominated film ‘Lion’.
Manipuri filmmaker Aribam Syam Sharma's award-winning 1990 film ‘Ishanou’ is the only Indian film to be selected for a red-carpet world premiere on May 19, 2023 at the prestigious Cannes Classic section.
Last year, six Indian movies premiered at the Cannes Films Festival which included R Madhavan’s ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’, Assamese film ‘Boomba Ride’, Malayalam drama ‘Niraye Thathakalulla Maram’, Marathi movie ‘Godavari’, Hindi romantic comedy ‘Alpha Beta Gamma’ and Maithili movie ‘Dhuin’.
While last year, India was the country of honour at the French Riviera, this year the focus will be on showcasing the country’s cultural strength and creative economy.
