On Sunday, OTT platform Netflix announced the second season of its wildly popular show – ‘Squid Game’.
The announcement was made via social media platforms, and it was accompanied by a teaser that can send chills down one’s spine.
It featured the ‘Squid Game’ doll singing the famous track – 'Mugunghwa Kkoci Pieot Seumnida' aka the 'Red Light, Green Light' song.
The teaser is brief, but it hints at the return of the infamous doll Young-hee.
The Twitter trail of this announcement post also featured a short note by the writer, director, and executive producer of the drama Hwang Dong-Hyuk.
His statement further revealed that the protagonist of the show, Seong Gi-hun, and the antagonist, Front Man, both will return in this new season.
It also mentioned that the second season will introduce Young-hee’s boyfriend Cheol-su.
For the uninitiated, ‘Squid Game’ is a South Korean survival drama series that revolves around traditional Korean children’s games.
This fictional show features over 400 desperate, cash-strapped participants from different walks of life competing against each other to win the cash prize, which is in billions of dollars.
Every game has a deadly twist, and the participants don’t know that the consequence of losing the game is death.
While there is no date announced yet, fans and followers of ‘Squid Game’ can’t contain their excitement and are looking forward to this whole new round.
