American-born singer, actress, performer, and novelist Tina Turner is no more. She died at the age of 83, on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.
There will be no one like Tina Turner, netizens flood Twitter and Instagram with posts and comments like these, and we quite agree. She was one of the top recording artists of all time courtesy her rock n roll hits, which also earned her the title of the ‘Queen of Rock’.

A song that summed up Tina’s spirit well, ‘I Don’t Wanna Fight’ was released in 1993 and had become one of the Top 10 hits in America that year.
Released in 1984, this song was based on heartache and pain, and it was drawn from her turbulent personal life. It was written by British duo Terry Britten and Graham Lyle.
Tina acted in ‘Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome’ and even created ‘We Don’t Need Another Hero’ soundtrack for the 1985 film. It became so popular; it was an important part of her live show until her final tour in 2009.
Here’s a track that made her global comeback a memorable one. It was written by Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits and sung by Tina.
A pop-rock hit from 1986, ‘Typical Male’ was about love, loss, and realisation. You saw Tina falling in love with a lawyer and soon realising that he is no good.
