The story revolves around a nefarious businessman, Akhandanad Tripathi, whose power and influence have given him the status of ‘king of Mirzapur’. However, things go south when his son acts impulsively and makes some enemies. Just like its 1st season, season 2 of Mirzapur left us with an exciting cliffhanger. Now, it’s up to the creators to give the country another thrilling season that will have everyone on the edge of their seats. Season 3 is expected to release in 2024, however, the dates are yet to be confirmed. The show is ‘A’ rated due to graphic violence, so it’s best if you watch it without kids. This is one of the best OTT web series to watch.

2. Panchayat (Season 3), Amazon Prime Video

A slice-of-life TV show, Panchayat is a heartwarming and soulful OTT web series to watch. It revolves around Abhishek, a young man who gets a job in an Indian village. While he dreams of enjoying city life, -, he is stuck in a remote rural area with minimal facilities and none of the urban lifestyle. He becomes close to the village head, Raghubir Yadav, and the events that follow will take you through a rollercoaster of emotions. You will find yourself laughing, crying and just wondering how surreal village life is. -Jitendra Kumar pulls off the role of Abhishek with flair, and Neena Gupta really jazzes up the show with her quirky personality. Watch the previous seasons if you haven’t already! Season 3 of Panchayat is ready to launch in April 2023 and is family-friendly.

3. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, Netflix

Bridgerton has been a success since day one of its launch. The British period drama, following the lives of the inhabitants of Bridgerton, is upbeat, vibrant and full of drama. You have love stories that keep you on your toes, politics and rivalries that affect the lives of everyone in the town. The sizzling chemistry between the characters and the thrill of the cliffhangers won’t let you stop after one episode. Queen Charlotte focuses on the life of the queen of Bridgerton. The character - is based on the real-life queen and her romance with King George III. While the show will add a dramatic flair to the story, it is worth watching. You’ll catch some of your favourite actors from the previous seasons too. The show is slated to release on the 4th of May, 2023. It is a fun watch, but keep it restricted to older kids.

4. Loki (Season 2), Disney+

Who doesn’t love watching the Avengers in exciting spin-offs? In season 2 of this much-awaited show, you’ll see Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston) and Mobius (played by Owen Wilson) create trouble. They are back in suave outfits and ready to sweep you off of your feet. The cliffhanger from season 1 really makes you want to know what the God of Mischief is up to now. So far, there is no official date regarding the release of this show but it is promised to be out by the summer of 2023. The show will have just 6 episodes, making it perfect for a weekend binge.

5. The Marvelous Mrs Maisel (Season 5), Amazon Prime

If you haven’t already watched this show, what have you been doing? With already 4 seasons to its name, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel will finally come to an end in 2023. Its 5th season will be a wrap on all the chaos that has followed her for so long. The audience wants to know if Midge will get together with Lenny and whether she’ll make it big in her career after her fall out with Shy Baldwin. It’s time she moved out and built a life of her own, something that she has always wanted. The impeccable story of a cheery, witty and brilliant stand-up comedienne is a fun watch. The show, through Midge’s life, engages in an active commentary on feminism and a woman’s place in society. The show might be out by February 2023 and is perfect for binge-watching.

6. Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein (Season 2), Netflix

Indian OTT cinema has taken a huge leap in terms of the quality of content that is being put out. Indian web series like Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein brilliantly represents creative and impactful storytelling. The show focuses on the life of Vikrant (played by Tahir Raj Bhasin) whose life is going exactly the way he wanted it to. He has a good job and is planning to marry the love of his life. However, things take an unexpected turn as Purva (played by Aanchal Singh) returns to his life. Will politics ruin his life forever? Season 2 of Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein was released in January on Netflix India and deserves a binge-watch.

7. Guns & Gulaabs, Netflix

When it comes to binge-worthy show line ups for 2023, there is no dearth of great content. Guns & Gulaabs, starring Rajkumar Rao, is slated to release in August of 2023. The crime thriller has created a lot of buzz with its vintage storytelling, upbeat themes and thrilling twist. The story revolves around the lives of two misfits who fall into unprecedented situations and deep into the world of crime. The trailer for this comedy crime thriller in India starts off with a chippy vibe but things turn gory as you keep watching. Created by Krishna D.K., the show promises to be a fresh wave of brilliant filmmaking and absorbing storytelling. Don’t miss this one!

8. The Good Wife - Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka, Disney+Hotstar

Kajol hasn’t been doing as many films as her audience would love to. The brilliant actress made her last appearance in the Netflix film Tribhanga. The Good Wife - an adaptation of the American show of the same name will be Kajol’s debut series. She will be playing a lawyer who has to become the breadwinner for her family. These series of events occur after her husband is imprisoned over a sex scandal and charged with corruption. So far, Hotstar has only released the show’s first look which has Kajol dressing up as an executive lawyer and ready to start the game. 

9. Made in Heaven (Season 2), Amazon Prime Video

All the glamour, drama and poetry of Made in Heaven made the first season a must-watch. The story, directed by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, revolves around the lives of two wedding planners. While one of them, Tara, is a middle-class girl who comes into wealth when she marries Adil, Karan, her business partner, is a gay man struggling to make ends meet. Their business pans out well until it hits a dead end when Tara realises that she doesn’t want to be with Adil. The show juxtaposes the Indian upper class against the middle-class reality of India, the backward, narrow-minded thinking that still persists in the country and a lot of personal drama. Its commentary on dowries, virginity tests and arranged marriages in India gives you a lot to think about. Season 2 of Made in Heaven will be released in the first half of 2023. What will happen to Tara and Karan? Will they rise back up and achieve their dreams?
