'Naatu Naatu' From 'RRR' Wins Best Original Song Award At The Golden Globe Awards 2023

Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and Alia Bhatt-starrer Telugu action drama film 'RRR' creates history at the 80th Golden Globe Awards.

One of 2022's biggest blockbusters, RRR bagged an award in the 'Best Original Song' category at the Golden Globe Awards 2023 for Naatu Naatu.  

Naatu Naatu, an Indian film pop track featuring Ram Charan and Jr NT Rama Rao, is composed by MM Keeravani, a popular composer, playback singer, and lyricist in the Telugu and Tamil film industry. The Telugu action-drama film's director SS Rajamouli, and lead actors Ram Charan and Jr NT Rama Rao along with the crew were present at the Golden Globe Awards 2023 event. The award ceremony was hosted on January 10, 2023, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, and was aired live on NBC in the United States. 

Keeravani received the award and in his acceptance speech thanked RRR fans across the globe for all the love. Keeravani also took the opportunity to thank Rajamouli, lyricist Chandra Bose, choreographer Prem Rakshit, and a few others for their support. 

 

Praises pouring in

The film's cast and crew were showered with praises and congratulatory messages on Twitter after this historic win. One of those was by Bollywood's King Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) as well. "Sir just woke up and started dancing to Naatu Naatu celebrating your win at Golden Globes. Here’s to many more awards & making India so proud!!" wrote SRK.  

The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi also took to the social media platform to congratulate the entire team behind Naatu Naatu for winning this prestigious honour and making India proud on a global platform. 

And although team RRR couldn't shake a leg at the Golden Globe Awards 2023 stage after their win, Bollywood actor did the victory dance on their behalf and posted it on Instagram. “This should be our victory dance,” the actor wrote.

For the uninitiated, the Golden Globe Awards was launched in 1944 by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, and ever since has been recognising excellence in motion pictures and television, both American and international.
