13 Special Winter Menus To Celebrate The Advent Of 'Dilli Ki Sardi'

With the comforting sunshine and nippy air, Delhi-NCR restaurants are offering a variety of winter food delights.

As the weather becomes cooler and nippier, Delhiites know that Dilli ki sardi is not just about getting cosy in the woollens. It’s also about trying some lip-smacking delicacies that are specially made and enjoyed during the winter.

There is something comforting about the cold winters here. The sun warms the days and whiskey and toddy warm the nights, putting you in the mood for a good appetite at this time of year.

1. Music & Mountains

The cosy and quaint European cafe, Music & Mountains has a new menu with a selection of hearty wholesome dishes using sustainable ingredients, farm-fresh vegetables and a cocktail program that is paired perfectly with the weather. The winter menu features a farm-fresh soup using mountain apples from Uttarakhand, rich stews of kale and chickpeas, crumb-fried pork chops, goat cheese gnocchi and more. Complete your meal with a slice of strawberry and rosemary-filled cream cake and a cup of single-origin coffee from the hills of Chikmagalur. Inventive cocktails along with the timeless mulled wine, eggnog, whisky toddy and buttered rum make up the bar menu.

2. You-Mee

Delhi’s favourite Japanese restaurant, You-Mee has a special ramen menu as part of their winter offering. Their new extensive menu now offers eight different types of ramen — three options for vegetarians and the remaining five are for non-vegetarians. Well, a soupy bowl of warm succulent noodles, oozing with delectable flavours during chilly winters always sounds perfect.

3. Karigari

Helmed by Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi, Karigari has a winter menu titled ‘Sardiyon ka swaad’ showcasing some drool-worthy Indian, North Indian and Mughlai cuisines. Signatures on the menu include sarson ka saag thali, saag soya keema mattar and gajar ka halwa. There is an eclectic sangria list to pair with your meal too.

4. Novotel New Delhi Aerocity

Welcoming the season of frosty weather with an appetising concept is Novotel New Delhi Aerocity’s winter grills. The idea is to relish the beauty of winter and embrace the traditional barbeque ceremony of this much-loved season with some artisanal cocktails. The magical combination of food and drinks includes barbeque chicken breast, tenderloin fillet medallion, Spanish pork chorizo, black pepper cottage cheese and many others. Also, lined up are some interesting cocktail drinks, named rum espresso martini, winter hugs, mighty jungle and festive bubbles.

5. Sly Granny

Bringing winter cheer to Delhi's hipster hangout, Sly Granny's new menu promises delicious dishes and cocktails. The menu lists fares such as smoked duck chhundo, roast turkey porchettas, dates and pecan pie and butternut squash mac and cheese. Savour these dishes with flavourful cocktails like sunset dazzle made with raw turmeric-infused gin, homemade rosemary syrup, citrus and egg white and hot buttered bourbon made with bourbon, unsalted butter, demerara sugar and winter spices. Get cosied up even more with a slice of their plum cake with spiced vanilla ice cream and a glass of their classic mulled wine. However, the menu is available till 5 January, 2023.

6. Mamagoto

If you’re looking forward to indulging in sumptuous winter Asian food, Mamagoto can delight you with their delectable pan-Asian delights like juicy dim sums, savoury baos, and soft tacos along with an enormous variety of sushi like quirky chicken katsu sushi. The new Mamagoto menu is a fusion of inspiration from Asian street hawkers, featuring dishes like wild mushroom bao with truffle oil and flavoured assorted wild mushroom to goat cheese tacos with fresh mint, kimchi, greens, mango sauce and spicy mayo, smoked chicken and pulled pork belly tacos. A fine assortment of refreshing sangrias — especially the cucumber, basil and apple sangria; blueberry frozen and tropical sunrise one — completes the highly indulgent affair.

7. Ivoryy Cocktail Garden

From a warm indoor dining space with large windows that bring the outdoors inside to alfresco seating under a lit canopy, Ivoryy is a visual delight. The winter food menu is a magnificent melange of Mediterranean, European and Asian delicacies with goat cheese dolma, Berkshire chicken bao, burnt babka and more. A variety of handcrafted cocktails like mulled wine, eggnog, hot toddy, and hot buttered rum are the perfect accompaniments to the nip in the air.

8. Klap

Known for its European and Asian cuisine, Klap has just launched its winter menu curated by Chef Gurmehar Sethi. You can dine on a variety of winter cocktails such as the Asian toddy, a delectable tequila drink; the awakening soul, a whiskey drink; and Magma, a combination of rum, mandarin, and aromatic bitters; along with pomelo salad, Belgian pork belly flatbread, Lucknowi haleem with biscuit rotis, and Andhra cottage cheese with Malabar rotis. The diverse menu tends to be the perfect accompaniment to the nip in the air.

9. Dhaba Estd. 1986

Titled Dilli ki sardi, the limited edition winter menu of the famous Dhaba Estd. 1986 chain lets you treat your tastebuds to delicious North Indian delicacies. Seasonal ingredients like sesame seeds, sarson, fenugreek, and carrot fulfil the traditional warm, soul food delicacies like sarson ka saag served with makki ki roti, murgh ki chaap, fish tikka, paneer tikka, and gajar ka halwa that go perfectly with the season

10. Kampai

Kampai is known for presenting a contemporary twist on traditional Japanese cuisine. The interiors pay homage to the restaurant’s name with aesthetically pleasing cherry blossom decor on the ceiling, transporting you to Japan. A slick addition to the city’s winter menu is inspired by the winter regions of Japan, consisting of a live robata (Japanese barbeque grill), dim sum counter, teppanyaki grill, sushi counter and much more.

11. Petite Pie Shop

The laid-back, Parisian-style cafe Petite Pie Shop by Chef Vanshika Bhatia, has seasonal pies made for the holidays. Think turkey-stuffed pie with cranberry compote, pumpkin-spiced cranberry crumble, traditional apple pie, cinnamon babka and more among other elevated fares.

12. One8 Commune

One8 Commune’s winter menu which is available only on Sundays is a sensory overload of hand-picked dishes that serves a range of both sweet and savoury. Nosh on plates from buttery-rich avocado tartare to the crowd's favourite pepperoni pizza with a range of exquisitely crafted cocktails infused with assorted spices and syrups to pair with the delectables.

This urban hangout hub’s winter menu is as quirky and edgy as its interiors are. Imagine hot and slurpy Nepalese soupy momos, a wholesome platter featuring spring rolls, momo, honey chilli fries, Chinese bhel, fiery tandoori sausage platter, a seafood platter with fried fish, prawn popcorn, sabudana seafood vadas and tandoori fish tikka. For drinks, their limited-edition mulled wine LLIIT and XMas shot is going to keep you warm and spiced up. However, the winter menu is a limited-edition one available only till 07 January 2023.
