5 Events You Cannot Miss This Weekend In Bengaluru

Music, Xmas shopping, delicious food, a play and dance performance are enough reasons for you two step out of home this weekend.

Whether you commit to the two-day celebration of music at Echoes of Earth or head out with your friends to check out some cool food or just spend a quiet evening watching a play based on Rabindranath Tagore’s story, this weekend has something for everyone in Bengaluru.

Here are five events that you might want to check out:

1. Echoes of Earth

Echoes of Earth is India’s greenest music festival that converges over 40+ local and international musicians to celebrate the planet. Nestled among lush greenery spread over 150 acres, the festival introduces distinct music and art through its 4 uniquely designed stages. The festival remains true to its vision of celebrating the Earth through meaningful design, art and music. The pioneering spirit of the festival rests on the element of ‘reduce, reuse & recycle ’- using old, discarded and up-cycled media in new and creative ways.

2. Papusa by Nrityakosh

Nrityakosh, an oriental and fusion belly dance school, presents ‘Papusza’, a dance production on the life of the greatest Polish Romani poet Papusza. Conceptualised by Debapriya Das, founder and artistic director of Nrityakosh, the production will revolve around the poet’s life, which is both fascinating and tragic. She was a path-breaker, a female poet in a culture that deemed literacy ‘unsuitable’ for women. While her art made her the first Roma woman to be included in the Polish Literary Union, it also led to her being exiled by her own people. The production is the story of her relentless spirit and her quest for freedom to express herself through her art.
