10 Celeb Looks From Golden Globes 2021 To Up Your Style Quotient

Virtual or in person, men or women; no one compromised on fashion this year.

The 2021 awards season officially kickstarted with the 78th Golden Globe Awards, and like every year this year too, the who's who of the Hollywood showbiz took it as an opportunity to make a fashion statement. Even though the red carpet was virtual and most of the glitterati safely tucked in their living rooms, none took their look casually, and put their best foot forward.

They do deserve credit for literally, ‘dressing up and nowhere to go’. So here are some of the most inspiring looks from the first big award show of 2021.

Anya Taylor-Joy

Gorgeous emerald-green Dior Haute Couture dress paired with Tiffany & Co. jewellery is what made The Queen's Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy stand out at the Golden Globes this year. The fact that the 24-year-old actor took home the trophy for Best Actress in a Series, Limited-Series, or TV Movie, is not a shocker, after the Netflix show became a global phenomenon during the lockdown, so much so that it skyrocketed the fans' interest in chess. Google even reported that the search for the word ‘chess’ was at its highest level in 14 years!

Daniel Levy

Schitt's Creek fame Daniel Levy who was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Limited-Series or TV Movie, though attended the show virtually, managed to grab attention with his Valentino Couture look from its Spring/Summer 2021 collection, the brand's first ever for men. "This suit was all I needed tonight. Thank you to Pierpaolo and the incredible team at @MaisonValentino for letting me be the first to wear your Men’s Haute Couture," he said in a tweet.

Lily Collins

The Emily In Paris lead Lily Collins went all out 80s in a full-length Saint Laurent dress flaunting vintage embroidery, one shoulder cut, padded sleeves, and a side cut on the skirt. Complementing her outfit was her equally vintage soft side-swept hairstyle by Gregory Russell and hoop earrings. Not only did she bag the Best Actress nomination in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy, for her show, but it also got nominated for Best TV Series, Musical or Comedy.

Nicholas Hoult

Looking suave in a Giorgio Armani suit, the X-Men actor Nicholas Hoult didn't attend the show in person but still managed to grab attention. He shared some jaw-dropping looks on Instagram from London, where he is currently shooting. Nominated for Best Actor in a TV Series, Comedy for The Great, he wrote on his Instagram handle, “All dressed up with nowhere to go, but something to watch!"

Elle Fanning

Nominated for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series for her show The Great, Elle Fanning looked ethereal in her satin pastel blue Gucci gown designed by Alessandro Michele, paired with jewels by Fred Leighton. Completing her look was her sleek bun that rested on her head like a crown. Currently in London shooting for the second season of her Golden Globes nominated show, Fanning's look reminded viewers of Cinderella.

Riz Ahmed

Nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Drama) for The Sound of Metal, Riz Ahmed raised eyebrows with his powerful role of a heavy metal drummer. Another actor to attend the award show virtually, Ahmed's casual yet formal look by Celine and style by Julie Ragolia made headlines.

Andra Day

While her compelling portrayal of the iconic Billie Holiday in the film The United States vs. Billie Holiday, won her the Golden Globes for the Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Drama), it was Andra Day’s gray gown from Chanel's Summer 2021 Haute Couture collection, that truly turned eyes. Curly top knot, crimson lips, shimmery eyes, and the ever-shining diamonds gave her just the perfect blend of modern and vintage.

Nick Viall

Going all classic for the Golden Globes, The Bachelor's Nick Viall paired his Todd Snyder tuxedo, with a bow tie and a pocket square, that made him look even hotter. The actor also co-hosted the official pre-show of the 2021 Golden Globe Awards.

Laura Dern

Standing out among the gowns and jewels was Laura Dern's choice of a suit and bustier paired with a choker. She slayed the red carpet in a pair of spiked heels. With this utterly stylish look, the Big Little Lies actress soon caught the attention of the Twitterati who flooded the social media portal with praises for her. Working since her teens, Dern has landed many awards from Oscars and Prime Time Emmy to a few Golden Globes.

Jared Leto

70s-inspired moustache, chest-length hair, navy cable knit turtleneck! Yes, that was Jared Leto’s unconventional look for his virtual attendance at the Golden Globes 2021. He was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for The Little Things
