Looking for mehendi inspiration? Here are celebrity mehendi make up designs that you will love!

The complex patterns of bridal mehendi designs, covering the bride's hands and feet frequently highlight the beauty and charm of an Indian wedding. In Indian culture, mehendi, the age-old practice of henna paste applied to the skin, is a crucial component of the bridal festivities. This long-standing custom has not only endured but has also come to be a celebrated part of modern weddings, especially those of Bollywood actresses.

Mehendi, which derives from the Sanskrit word ‘mendhik’, has been applied for ages and is thought to ward off evil spirits and provide good fortune. Indian brides often get elaborate henna designs painted on their hands and feet as a gesture of beauty, love, and the happy start of a new chapter in their lives. Mehendi application has significant cultural and emotional value in addition to being purely ornamental.

Bollywood is noted for its splendour, extravagance, and extravagant festivities. Bollywood weddings are the buzz of the town, and every aspect, including the celebrity mehendi designs, receives a great deal of attention.

Celebrities dress in lavish celebrity mehendi designs that make a fashion statement at Bollywood weddings, which are no less than magical events. Bollywood stars have embraced the art of mehendi, expressing its beauty and cultural significance on their big day with highly designed designs and personalised accents. Numerous brides-to-be who are anxious to find similar celebrity mehendi designs to make their wedding moments equally unique have been inspired by these famous weddings.

The lavish celebrity mehendi designs selected by Bollywood celebrities have established new trends and influenced brides' preferences and decisions all throughout the nation. In this article, we do a recap of some of our favourite celebrity mehendi designs in recent times!

No mention of mehendi in Bollywood would be complete without the mention of celebrity mehendi artist, Veena Nagda, who is Bollywood’s favourite when it comes to celebrity mehendi designs.

1. Katrina Kaif

Did you know that Katrina Kaif opted for traditionally Rajasthani mehendi on her big day, the reported cost of which is allegedly 1 lakh rupees?! We can't get over how gorgeously rich the colour of mehendi has turned out to be on Katrina's hands, which is now one of our favourite celebrity mehendi designs! According to tradition, the darker the colour of henna is on a newlywed's hands, the stronger their love is for their spouse. For Katrina's special day, a Sojat-based company was contracted to provide 400 mehndi cones and about 20 kg of mehendi powder. The bride and her bridesmaids were all decorated with a unique henna. Held at the Six Senses Barwara Fort in Sawai Madhopur region, Katrina's mehendi designs and wedding looks were a treat for the eyes.

2. Deepika Padukone

The Pathaan star looked stunning at her Lake Como wedding. She had intricate mehendi art that covered her elbows and included lotuses, peacocks, and henna on the tips of her fingers. We cannot get over this intricate celebrity mehendi design!

The deeply in love couple can be seen beaming with happiness in all of the photographs while wearing colour-coordinated Sabyasachi suits. With two dupattas, a choker neckpiece, and striking earrings, Deepika made for a cheery bride while Ranveer dressed in an Angrakha outfit from Sabyasachi and a handwoven bandhgala jacket. According to the photos, the venue was exquisitely decorated with pink roses to match the attendees' pink-hued apparel. It's difficult to put into words how stunning these are!

3. Anushka Sharma

The Sultan actress also got hitched to captain Virat Kohli in Italy. She painted a stunning image while wearing a vibrant floral lehenga and displaying her forearm-length paisley mehendi design. The skipper also flaunted a simple artwork on his palm as he stood with his stunning wife. In a private ceremony, the cricketer and the actress wed at Tuscany's Borgo Finocchieto, a grand historic retreat encircled by vineyards close to Siena. Anushka had stated in an interview with Harper's Bazaar Bride that she wanted to marry in a vineyard. Since her wedding, many brides have referenced Anushka’s celebrity mehendi design for their own weddings!

4. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja wore jewellery made by her mother Sunita Kapoor and Amrapali to complete her mehendi look. She voted for a set that included a choker, maang tikka, jhumkas, and kadas and was covered in uncut diamonds. The actress had the customary chuda and kalire ceremonies that evening because her personal mehendi had been administered the day before the occasion. For the event, her makeup artist Namrata Soni gave her a dewy base, winged eyeliner, and pink lips while hairstylist Suhas Mohite added mogra to her customary braid. When the wedding first happened, this was an iconic wedding, clubbed with the release of Veere De Wedding, and it very quickly became the internet’s favourite celebrity mehendi design!

5. Alia Bhatt

On her wedding day, Alia Bhatt wore hues of ivory and gold and looked like an angelic bride. Alia cut an outstanding figure with her new-age perspective on many things when she married Ranbir Kapoor. The actress garnered admiration for all of her decisions, whether it was her no-makeup appearance or a different form of mangalsutra.

One of them was her mehendi, which stood out significantly from the typical bridal mehendi. Pinkvilla has now learned that Jyoti Chedda, a Mumbai-based celebrity artist, applied Alia Bhatt's simple bridal mehendi. The bride, however, chose and created the mehendi idea entirely on her own. This will be a favourite among the brides who are looking for minimalistic celebrity mehendi designs! Alia’s wedding was a lookbook for the perfect summer wedding.
