Barren Island, Andaman's most easterly island, is India's and South Asia's only active volcanic island. The sad part is that setting foot on one of the most beautiful Indian islands is prohibited. Only board vessels are permitted to circle the island.

7. Agatti Island, Lakshadweep 

Agatti is among the top islands in India for a holiday, with its stunning lagoons, crystal blue waters, and a coastline teeming with marine life. The lagoons here are home to a vast and vibrant colony of corals, which is the main draw for divers. 8. Majuli Island, Assam

This is the most unusual of India's islands. On its coast, you'll find moss instead of sand and traditional North-Eastern cuisine instead of seafood.
