Kurisumala attracts hundreds of devotees from all over the world during the Good Friday week and climb up the hill in faith carrying wooden crosses. The history of Kurisumala can be traced back to one decade after our independence i.e. 1957 when a Belgian missionary climbed the summit with a small group of parishioners and established a wooden cross on the top of the hill. It is believed that the farmers living there witnessed the healing powers of the cross, and since then it has become one of the popular Vagamon attractions. As time passed, the original wooden cross started getting damaged. So, a concrete cross of  24 feet was established in its place. Paying a visit to Kurisumala is worth whether you are seeking a place to unwind yourself or to soothe your soul.
