The awards season is here, and there is no denying that IIFA awards are some of the biggest we have. While it is yet to be announced where the 24th edition of the International Indian Film Academy Awards will be held, the much-awaited IIFA nominations 2024 are here, and we can’t keep calm.
While Ranbir Kapoor takes the cake with Animal taking the most nominations at 11, it is closely followed by Alia Bhatt and Ranvir Singh starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, with 10, and Shah Rukh Khan’s outings Jawan, and Pathaan both have 7 IIFA nominations each. These IIFA nominations are in the popular category, and after being announced, they’ll be open for people to vote in.
IIFA nominations for Best Picture
Produced by T Series, Animal will compete with Red Chillies’ Jawan, Dharma’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, and Nadiadwala Grandsons’ Satyaprem Ki Katha here. While these were marketed as the biggest releases this past year, two smaller entries to the Best Picture category at IIFA Awards 2024 are Ronnie Screwvala’s Sam Bahadur, and Vidhu Vinod Chopra backed 12th Fail.
IIFA nominations for Best Director
The category that honours the directors of the most loved films each year includes Sandeep Reddy Vanga for Animal, Vidhu Vinod Chopra for 12th Fail, Karan Johar who stepped back into the director’s seat after a long for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Atlee for his first Hindi outing Jawan, Siddharth Anand for Pathaan, and relatively newer director on the block, Amit Rai for OMG 2, this year, at the IIFA Awards 2024.
IIFA Nominations for Performance In A Leading Role (Female)
This list of nominations for the best actress at IIFA Awards 2024, is a mix of the biggest hits, and the films that resonated beautifully with audiences despite their average performances at the box office. IIFA Awards 2024 will see Rani Mukerji for Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway compete with Alia Bhatt for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Deepika Padukone for Pathaan, Kiara Advani for Satyaprem Ki Katha, and Tapsee Pannu for Dunki in the category of Performance In A Leading Role (Female).
IIFA Nominations for Performance In A Leading Role (Male)
In this much coveted IIFA awards category, Vikrant Massey for 12th Fail will be competing with Ranbir Kapoor for Animal, Shahrukh Khan for Jawan, Ranveer Singh for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Vicky Kaushal for Sam Bahadur, and Sunny Deol who made his way back to big screens after a long time with Gadar 2.
