Samosa bhakarwadi is a popular Indian snack that combines the best of two worlds - the crispy, savory goodness of samosas and the spicy, tangy flavor of bhakarwadi. The snack is typically served as an evening snack or as a party appetizer. It is known for its unique texture and its delicious blend of spices.

About Samosa Bhakarwadi

The origin of samosas can be traced back to the Middle East, where they were called sambusak. The recipe for samosas was brought to India by the Mughals and over time, it has become a popular snack in various parts of the country. On the other hand, bhakarwadi is a Maharashtrian snack that is known for its spicy and tangy flavor. Bhakarwadi is made by rolling out a dough of gram flour, filling it with a spicy mixture of sesame seeds, coconut, and chili powder, and then deep-frying it to a crisp.

Samosa bhakarwadi combines the best of both these snacks by adding a twist of samosa to the traditional bhakarwadi recipe. The outer layer of the samosa bhakarwadi is made with a mixture of all-purpose flour, semolina, and oil, which is then filled with a mixture of potatoes, peas, and spices. The filling is then rolled up and sliced into bite-sized pieces before being deep-fried to a crisp.

One of the reasons why samosa bhakarwadi is a great Indian snack is that it can be customized to suit individual tastes. For instance, you can add your favorite spices or vegetables to the filling to give it a unique flavor. You can also experiment with the size and shape of the bhakarwadi to make it more appealing. Additionally, samosa bhakarwadi is a great snack for people who are looking for a vegetarian or vegan option.

To add a twist of samosa to the bhakarwadi recipe, you can experiment with the filling. Instead of the traditional potato and pea filling, you can use a mixture of minced meat, onions, and spices to make a non-vegetarian version of samosa bhakarwadi. You can also use different types of cheese to add a cheesy twist to the filling. For those who love spicy food, you can add more chili powder or other spices to the filling.

In conclusion, samosa bhakarwadi is a delicious and versatile Indian snack that is perfect for any occasion. Whether you are a fan of samosas, bhakarwadi, or both, samosa bhakarwadi is sure to delight your taste buds. So why not try making samosa bhakarwadi at home and add your own twist to this classic snack?

Pro Tips

1.  Use fresh and good quality ingredients: To get the best taste, use fresh and good quality ingredients such as potatoes, spices, and oil. Using old or stale ingredients can result in a poor taste.

2.  Boil the potatoes well: The potatoes used in the filling should be well boiled, mashed and mixed with spices to ensure that the filling is cooked through and has a good texture.

3.  Roll the dough thinly: Roll the dough as thin as possible, this will ensure that the Bhakarwadis are crispy and not too doughy.

4.  Temperature of oil: The oil should be at the right temperature, not too hot or too cold, to ensure that the Bhakarwadis are cooked through and have a golden brown colour.

5.  Drain the excess oil: After frying, place the Bhakarwadis on a paper towel to remove the excess oil.

6.  Store it properly: Once cooled, store the Bhakarwadis in an airtight container. They can be stored for several weeks and can be enjoyed as a snack or side dish.
