The year 2023 has begun with a host of celeb weddings. In an intimate ceremony, multi-hyphenate Masaba Gupta tied the knot with actor-beau Satyadeep Misra. The couple took to Instagram to share the news and dreamy images from the early morning ceremony on January 27, 2023.

Sharing a beautiful picture from the wedding, Masaba wrote, "Married my ocean of calm, this morning. Here’s to many many lifetimes of love, peace, stability & most importantly laughter. And thanks for letting me pick the caption- this is gonna be great!" Misra had earlier starred on Netflix’s Masaba Masaba, where he played the role of her ex-husband in season 1.

What looked like a private wedding affair from the images, the ceremony included Masaba’s mother, Neena Gupta, and her stepfather and veteran cricketer, Vivian Richards. The designer wrote on Instagram, “For the first time ever - My whole life came together. This is us. My beautiful blended family (heart). Everything from here on is just bonus.”

The couple along with her family was dressed in House Of Masaba’s new bridal collection, which is yet to be launched. The wedding images are reminiscent of Bollywood romance in the early 1990s with a touch of old-world India’s maharajas and maharanis.

Masaba poses beautifully against a stunning set-up that includes woven palm trees and a painting by Manjit Bawa in the colour haldi yellow, which coincidentally is the inspiration for her upcoming bridal line. “Shringar - A marriage is a celebration of stability, movement & balance…much like life and Manjit Bawa’s work which has hade a huge impact in my life…and this artwork provided the inspiration for my bridal line,” she writes on her Instagram.

Masaba looked ethereal dressed in a pink-green wedding outfit. She opted for a barfi pink raw silk lehenga with gold embroidery and a fully sequinned border. A lime green dupatta with wallflower prints on it complemented her bridal attire. She wrote, “The custom border has the first ever Masaba Motif - ‘the palm’ and the ‘chidiya’ which celebrates the union of tradition and freedom. A sign that women can believe in the institution of marriage yet follow their hearts and voice their thoughts freely.”

Satyadeep complemented her pastel pink wedding dress with a similar coloured kurta set, which featured zesty lime green and lemon prints.

For jewellery and accessories, Masaba went the retro way that gave old-glamour vibes. The layered choker and long necklaces added a very royal touch to the look, while the statement-worthy star and moon pearl hair clip-ons, inspired by South Indian headgear, added a quirky touch. Explaining the choice of jewellery she writes, “I wanted a customised ‘Chand Taara’ inspired by South Indian headgear because the sun is energy - the protector and giver of life. And the various phases of the moon affect us in ways we don’t even recognise. We are driven by nature and energised by it. May we never forget that.”

Masaba has always been known for her dreamy looks, and her bridal glam was no less. She went for a muted rosy pink look that complemented her attire. With kohl-rimmed eyes, fluttery lashes, and contoured cheeks with subdued rose blush and nude pink lipstick, she perfected the art of understated elegance.

Our best wishes to the beautiful couple as they embark on this new chapter in their lives.
