With festivities, events, and parties this Diwali, looking good is imperative. From the finest of clothes to brightest of the smiles, everyone wants to put their best foot forward. If you’ve picked your Diwali attire, there is only one thing left, deciding what look you want to go for.

Whether you like the traditional festive glam, or you like to keep things simple, we have recommendations for you. Simple, and easy to achieve, these makeup looks are all you need to shine bright like a diamond this Diwali.

Here are 7 Diwali makeup looks you can choose from

A graphic liner is always a good idea. Whether you are going for a classic black or bringing in some sparkles with coloured ones, graphic liner looks are perfect either way. Pair the graphic liner with a muted nude or mauve lip, and keep the skin clear. Skip blush or highlighter to keep the focus on the eyes.

A classic, bold lips never go out of style. The important thing to keep in mind if you’re going for a dark lip is keeping the rest of the face fresh, and glowy. Dark lips can often make teeth look yellow, so make sure you know your undertone, and choose the shade accordingly. If you have a cooler undertone, and go for a warm undertone lip shade, it’ll not only wash you out but also make teeth look dirtier.

Nothing festive is complete without shimmer. Opt for a glam eyeshadow, and depending upon the main metallic colour in your outfit, you can go for a silver/golden/copper-based topper. Complement the look with a nude matte lip colour.

Your festive decor doesn’t have to be the only thing glowing, you can too. For a glowy base, add a bit of liquid highlighter to your foundation if you want good coverage, and to a skin tint for lighter skin-like coverage.

If you have oily skin and aren’t keen on liquid highlighter, go for a pearlescent setting powder instead.

To shine bright and healthy, go a little heavy on the blush while keeping the rest of the face soft. Depending on your face shape, you can go for a snatched look or a soft fuller glow. For a natural flush, choose the blush colour according to your skin’s undertone.

Sharp and structured, a contoured face immediately elevates your look. Use a contouring stick to achieve the look, and for festive glam, go for a soft smokey eye. Replace the black eyeshadow with a colour like purple or brown to create a softer, more rounded smokey eye look.

Always lovely, this girl next door look works seamlessly, no matter what the occasion might be. Go for a soft pink eyeshadow base, and minimal eyeliner, and balance it with a pink according to your skin tone. You can also dab some gloss on top of the lipcolour for a dewy fresh feel.
