Karwar is a beautiful town in the state of Karnataka and is known for its breathtaking beauty. The name has been inspired by a neighbouring village called 'Kadwad'. This is another popular beach in Karwar that is located near the Karnataka-Goa border. It is surrounded by lush green scenery and houses “Our Lady Of St. Anne’s” church. This church was built by the Portuguese and is the first Latin Catholic church. Binaga Beach also has a naval base ‘Project Seabird’ here which has been established by the Navy.  

Must-visit places near Binaga beach are ‘Oyster Rock’, the muslin factory and Naganatha temple. The distance to Binaga Beach from Karwar is 5 km. You can take a cab to Binaga Beach from Karwar to reach fast.

Karwar Beach is popularly known as Rabindranath Tagore Beach. It is touted as one of the most popular and best Karwar beaches in Karnataka. It is the ideal place for swimming because there are no sudden depths in the water. The views of the sunset here are breathtaking, and should not be missed.

Other major attractions of this beach include the toy train, recreational park, colourful music fountain, aquarium and planetarium. The sunset views from the Kali Bridge will surely take your breath away. If you ever plan to visit Karwar, visit this beach during the Karavali Utsav festival that takes place every year on the beach.

To reach the Rabindranath Tagore beach, one can take buses from the Karwar bus station or take a cab too. The distance is barely 1 km from Karwar. Local bus services can also be availed from Madgaon, Gokarna and other nearby places.

This beach is located at the meeting point of the Arabian Sea and Kali River and is one of the most beautiful beaches of Karwar. When you visit the Koodi Bagh beach, you cannot miss its spectacular sunset views.

Other sets of activities you may want to do here are kayaking, banana boat, canoeing and paddling. The small fishing boats used by the fishermen and the palm trees are added attractions at the Koodi Bagh beach.

To reach Koodi Bagh beach, one can take a cab or an auto from Karwar bus station. The distance is approximately 4.5 km from Karwar.
